Articles
As you can see in the calendar of events and list of articles, there are many different activities and ways to get involved in the coming months. Included are joint events where engineers of all disciplines and societies can network together. I hope you will attend and bring your co-workers and friends. Don't forget to register for the September meeting and Golf Tournament, as the deadlines are rapidly approaching.
In the past month, the Greater Houston Chapter has attended an Astros baseball game, held a planning meeting for this next year and helped to host the Region IV Leadership Conference which provided attendees with 5 PDH credits. The State President, Patrick L. Kunz, P.E., stated that more than 160 members and non-members attended one of the five regional conferences held this summer. The combined attendance of the five regional conferences was greater than the attendance at the previous state-wide conferences held at one central location.
This year we've made several exciting changes to the website to support our efforts to improve communication with the membership electronically as well as postcards listing upcoming meetings. Please log on to the website and update your personal information. While you are there, take a look around to see the changes.

If you have any questions please contact the Site Administrator, or email me at ekirk@aeiengr.com.
Soon, you will also be receiving a postcard with the meetings scheduled through the end of the year. Please keep this for your reference or share it with someone that is new to the area or new to TSPE. Please provide any suggestions to improve communication.
The Chapter is also taking a new approach to fundraising and sponsorships. You will receive a letter in the mail with a request for annual and/or event sponsorships. We are now providing an opportunity for companies and individuals to be represented throughout the year on the website as well as at all meetings and events. If you do not receive a letter in the mail, a copy of the letter can be found on the website under the Sponsorships menu on the left side of the home page.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming meeting and events. Don't forget to register!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth "Liza" H. Kirk, P.E.
Greater Houston Chapter of TSPE President
