Event Description

Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) Greater Houston Chapter is hosting a fundraising Bar-B-Que luncheon on June 14, 2011 at 11:30 am to 1:00 pm featuring Commissioner Jack Morman, Harris County Precinct Two and TSPE State President Pat Kunz, P.E. The event is a great opportunity to treat your clients and co-workers to lunch, network with engineering colleagues or meet local government officials. The proceeds benefit educational programs including:
 
 College Scholarships - Four-year scholarships awarded to two (2) high school students planning to study Engineering at any Texas College and one (1) upper class engineering student attending the University of Houston.
 
MATHCOUNTS - A nationwide program that promotes math excellence for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and combines the efforts of education, business, government and the technological community.

Future City
- A nationwide program for 7th and 8th grade students that combines a stimulating engineering challenge with a "hands-on" application to present their vision of a city of the future.
 
As a member of the engineering profession, you know the value of encouraging students to excel in the fields of mathematics and science. The ticket price is only $20 and tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of the event, however we encourage everyone to RSVP on our website at www.tspehouston.org.  A vegetarian option will also be served.
 
Additionally, please consider a $300 eventsponsorship to further assist in our fundraising efforts. TSPE Bar-B-Que Luncheon sponsors will receive two tickets, display of their company logo and recognition for your donation at the event attended by Houston Area engineering firms and local public officials, including guest speaker Commissioner Jack Morman.

Biography

Jack Morman was sworn in as Harris County Precinct Two Commissioner on January 1, 2011, after winning a historic election on November 2, 2010. Heis the first Republican ever elected Commissioner by the voters of Precinct 2.
 
A proud Deer Park native, Commissioner Morman believes in limited and efficient government.   His mission is to protect the taxpayers’ interests while providing the essential services mandated by county government. Commissioner Morman’s top priority is to promote economic growth by improving the critical infrastructure in Precinct 2.
 
Commissioner Morman is a graduate of Baylor University and Baylor University Law School and is licensed by the State of Texas to practice before the courts of the State of Texas as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
 
Commissioner Morman and his wife, Andrea, graduated from Deer Park High School.  They have two children, daughter Jordan and son Jack III.

 After graduating from Texas A&M University, Pat spent two years with Dallas Power and Light before joining Halff Associates in 1981. In his early days as a design engineer and Team Leader, he focused primarily on site development and flood protection facilities.
