The interim is an important time for legislative and governmental affairs issues. It is a time to slow down and discuss important issues with each other. It is a time to get to know your legislator. It is a time to educate our officials on what is important to us so they can represent our issues when called upon.
At the state level, we are monitoring interim legislative and state agency hearings and reporting back to you. TxDOT and TDI will have Sunset hearings in addition to their regular hearing schedule, and we will have the opportunity to weigh in on how these agencies are reformed. The House and Senate Transportation committees will both be looking at critical transportation finance issues as our state struggles with the question of how to adequately fund our infrastructure needs.
